I’m Back! A Quick Update
I went to login to my account and had no idea where it was. I last posted in March 2020. I’m not totally sure what all transpired since then but here are the “high” lights.
- after breaking my ankle and needing surgery, I spend all of January and February on the couch. I was freed to finally walk on March 8th…then stuff got really interesting.
- I had to find a new office after mine was rented out from under me..a bad misunderstanding with my landlord that did set me up to have a lovely new office in Bloomington that I currently use for plants and mail but at least I am paying less rent.
- The American Legion I have used for workshops for the past 5 years went under overnight in January which saved it from going under in March. I figured I would need to find a new location but until this month, that certainly hasn’t been a priority.
- In March I became a pandemic mental telehealth specialist, not a job I ever expected. I never missed work so I feel lucky but pandemic mental health is tricky. How do you support someone, everyone through something you are going through as well? There might be guidebooks to pandemic mental health being written but there sure weren’t any last spring.
I stopped blogging, stopped workshops, lost all of my speaking gigs. I managed the whole pandemic thing better than I expected. I took time to recover physically and emotionally. Last April I was a mess, this April I feel revitalized.
My family is safe. The younger 2 and I got Covid in December but got off pretty easily. The seniors in my life were all able to avoid infection. We are all now fully vaccinated.
I’m not sure what to expect next, this has been such an intense year. I’m only beginning to deconstruct all I have learned. I do know that my extroverted energies are freaking out.
I am going to try a few workshops this spring. One outside, the others at Cowboy Jacks in Bloomington. I will be returning to the office in May. Former clients looking to return, please shoot me an email.
As for blogging- I’m not sure I can commit to weekly again. Certainly not this summer. I am playing! I bought a camper with my son and we can’t wait to get out again. I am fully enjoying the freedom I have as I get close to fully empty nesting after so long. So stay tuned. I’ll try to stay more connected now that life isn’t kicking my ass quite as much.
